How we work together

We have a set of agreements about how we work together. You can read them here.

We support and encourage Roving Leadership! This means anyone can 'champion' a group or task and get on with it, reporting back to the group as a whole and the development team at meetings. Get involved now by going to the Committees tab and get co-creating!

We use Formal Consensus to make whole-group decisions. You can learn more about that here.

This article is fascinating for those who want examples of what has inspired our organisational structure.
Committees may use consensus, but don't necessarily have to.

This is where our Home Ecovillage Project can meet online. We're developing an ecovillage in Southern England, currently looking for land.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome! If you want to become a full member (different to being an online member) and participate, then contact Matt on the members page and leave him a message. Similarly, if you want to get on and do something useful, contact Nate or Tara in the same way. There are plenty of committees to join in with. If you are a lawyer or an accountant and have some time to help us with the legal issues involving incorporation, please get in touch. Have fun! Thanks.

01/06/09 - Matt has just made a new proposal for moving forward with the ecovillage project. It is in the discussions below - 'Land for Life'. Please read it and send him your feedback if you have time - thanks!

We Fully encourage and support Leadership! If you wish to 'Champion' your group, which means that you are the point of contact, you organize group meetings, you show up at Core Organizing meetings and generally get things done!, then send your nomination request to the group. If you have consensus then go for it! Make yourself known to the group and the Core Organizing team. We love you - congratulations!

There is a weekend course in building with rammed earth at LILA on the 10th - 12th July. I'm booked on it. I'm particularly interested because this is a likely technique I'll be using in building my off-grid office.

Our Name

Home Ecovillage Project is our Development Group / Company.

Antonia On-Line used to be the working name for this social network... the name comes from the movie "Antonia's Line", which Nate and Charlie are inspired by. The group didn't decide on it, and it only applied to this website. Now it's changed!

The village name has not yet been decided. Among those suggested so far: "Source Village" (rhymes with Sauce...), "Home Ecovillage," "Brightling," and "Brightfield."

More suggestions welcome, as always.
